About the diarist
I'm Maren — thirty-four, from a small flat with a big window, and a person who has never once managed to keep a plant alive on the first attempt. I've kept a diary since I was sixteen. For most of that time nobody read a word of it.
Three winters ago I published one entry, almost unchanged, and felt genuinely sick for four hours. Forty-one people wrote back about their own version of the same week. That's the whole reason this place exists.
"Start ugly. Keep the door closed while you write. Open it once you've said the true thing."

You'll find slow mornings, long walks, the honest middle of decisions, and the odd recipe that only works because of the pan. You'll find entries that stop mid-thought, because a diary that resolves neatly every week is a magazine column wearing a diary's coat.
You won't find advice, five-step routines, or anyone else's private life. What belongs to my friends and family stays theirs. What's left is still the true part.

Wednesday supper. Nothing matched and nobody noticed.
A few facts
The letter
No noise, no spam. Just a short dispatch of what I'm thinking and feeling — the entry that mattered most, and the one thing I'm still working out.
